We Are Not Potatoes!
There is a saying in Taiwan that English teachers are like potatoes - if you need one you just put your hand into the ground and pull one out, they're all the same! Sometimes this is true, so shopping for English classes is like shopping for potatoes. You always look for the best price, and don't worry about quality.
At TEDSOL, we are exceptional people. We are passionate, very experienced, and very creative.
So creative, in fact, that we have been awarded a grant by Taiwan's Ministry of Education to start a new company specialising in Creative English Training. We enjoy our work, and really care about helping our students learn in new and interesting ways. We specialise in helping students activate their language knowledge by doing tasks and learning things that are useful to them in their future careers.
The business is managed by Claudine, who graduated from the Department of Children and Family Studies at Fu-jen University in 2008. She has been tutoring Junior High School students for several years, and also has a healthfoods business which she started as a student.
Chris (柯似海) was born in the UK and has also lived in the USA, Australia and Germany. He has over 20 years experience in business and sales, and has been teaching in Taiwan since 2002. He has spent more time in Taiwanese High School English classes (over 3000 hours) than any student and a similar amount of time teaching adults to pass international tests like IELTS and TOEIC. By understanding the High School education system he is able to close the gap between what is taught there and the needs of foreign companies and universities.
His hobbies are sailing and taiji, and he also has a dog.
